Two marvellous pictures of OÕConnell Street during the Civil War in Limerick taken on Sunday, July 9, 1922. On this page the barricades are being removed to allow the locals go about their daily business.
On Page 7 is a very rare picture taken from the corner of Sarsfield Street, OÕConnell Street and William Street showing two trucks with barbed wire strewn across them blocking the way down OÕConnell Street and Patrick Street. The Household Bazaar (better known as the 61/2d Bazaar) also took in William Street. Hassetts Ironmongers can also be seen. Note, too, the young boy inspecting the barricade
