015 The Milk Market Limerick

Another nostalgic stroll down memory lane.
The legendary Feathery BourkeÕs is the building on the end of the street while HurleyÕs ButcherÕs Stall is clearly visible. The lady on the donkey and cart is Mrs. Lizzie Quilligan from Lower Park. In the printed version of this book the wrong name was given but it was corrected in Vol. 10 of this series. For the record Lizzie was the former Miss Elizabeth Cross and she married Tom Quilligan. They had eight children, five daughters, Brigie, Chrissie, Anne, Kate and Ely and three sons, Paddy, Tom and John. Like all the Park people, the Quilligans were Market Gardeners and sold their produce at the local markets. The entire area is now rebuilt
