014 Broad Street Limerick
Though only 35 years old this picture of Broad Street can never be replicated. Almost the entire right hand side of the street has been replaced by apartments and a massive car park. There was a cinema in Broad Street just beyond the cigarette sign.
This was also the site of the famous Wembley Rovers Hall. Carey’s Cash & Carry was also on this street.
Further up (in John Street) was Buckley’s Mattress factory as well as Byrdie Connolly’s Ladies Clothes Shop. Broad Street was one of the big commercial streets in the Irishtown in days gone by
