Broad Lane


Broad Lane was a narrow laneway off Nicholas Street and in 1952 contained five houses. Even when the picture (left) was taken, c. 1970, the lane was already virtually uninhabited and ready for demolition. No. 1 Broad Lane is already gone and not included in the Register of Electors for 1952.
In No. 2 lived Denis Hickey; 3, William and Kathleen Packham, Chrissie Lee; in
4, Patrick and John Moloney, Thomas and Christina Mackey, Johanna and Jeanne King. In 5, Catherine M. and John E. Campbell; in No. 6, Daniel O’Shea Snr., and Annie and John Moore.
