When Krups Engineering opened their doors to Limerick workers in the early 1960s they provided more than a thousand quality jobs. The picture above was taken just after the opening. The entrance was on the South Hill side as there was no Childers Road built at that time. Interesting, too, to note, that the massive housing estates of Carew Park and O’Malley Park had not by then been started. Rathbane Terrace, visible top right, is still in existence but surrounded by hundreds of other houses.
